All Lower Merion Township Libraries will be closed on Monday, July 5, 2010 in observance of Independence Day  The Library Administration and Township offices will also be closed.

LMLS to Increase Fines and Fees in 2010

All Township Libraries Open From 1:30 - 5:30 p.m on Thursday, June 10

Full-time LMLS employees will be attending a staff in-service training in the morning and early afternoon on Thursday, June 10, 2010. All Township libraries will open at 1:30 p.m. and will close at 5:30 p.m.  All other Township offices will be open for normal business hours.

Bala Cynwyd Library Sundays @2 Concert : Family Concert

Bring a partner and your dancing shoes to our final concert of the season!  This hand-clapping, toe-tapping, family-friendly concert is brought to you by the dynamic, versatile flute & guitar duo of Two Part Invention.  Music lovers ages 5 and up are encouraged to attend!

The show begins at 2 p.m. with a special pre-concert lecture at 1:30. Meet the artists and get an insightful perspective of the musical and creative process

Belmont Hills Library Arts & Crafts Fair

More than twenty-five vendors selling one-of-a-kind jewelry, pressed flower art, quilt work, clothing, handbags, photography and wood art will present their work at the 8th Annual Belmont Hills Library Arts & Crafts Fair.  

This year's featured artist is woodturner Dinyar Chavda.  Dinyar turns salvaged wood into one-of-a-kind pieces -- bowls, hollow vessels, abstract and sculptural objects which are sought after by collectors.  He was recently featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer.  You can view more of his spectacular pieces at his website -- d.chavda.home.att.net.

Library System to Upgrade Public Internet Workstations

Starting on Thursday, December 13, 2008, The Lower Merion Library System (LMLS) will begin replacing the public internet computers located at all of the LMLS libraries with new computers. The upgrade project will begin this week at the Ludington Public Library, and is expected to last through January 30, 2009.

Verizon Customers Support Literacy Program at Ardmore Free Library

The Lower Merion Library System is pleased to announce that it has received a $5,000 grant from Verizon’s ‘Check Into Literacy’ program to fund a literacy initiative at the Ardmore Free Library. Township Celebrates New Library Processing Center

On Friday, April 18, the large group assembled at 104 Ardmore Avenue applauded the ribbon cutting for the new Library Processing Center.  The Center, though not open to the public, provides a wealth of services behind the scenes to stock Lower Merion Library System (LMLS) shelves and store volumes that are important to the System, but not in regular demand by patrons.   Read the complete story...

Wireless Internet Access Now Available at All Six Lower Merion System Libraries

The Lower Merion Library System (LMLS) is pleased to announce that all six libraries now offer free wireless access to the internet through the LMLS Wireless Stop and Go network. The network offers service to cardholders during each library’s hours of operation. Early Literacy Gets a Boost in Lower Merion

The Lower Merion Library System now offers an Early Literacy Station (ELS) in the Children’s Department at each of its six member libraries. The Early Literacy Station is a computer loaded with 34 different software programs to make learning fun. Each station is available for children ages 3 to 9, and the educational software promotes reading, science, art, and math skills.  Read complete story...
