All Lower Merion Township Libraries will close at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, November 26, 2008, and will be closed on Thursday, November 27, 2008 in observance of Thanksgiving Day. The Library Administration office and all other Township offices will also be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
Verizon Customers Support Literacy Program at Ardmore Free Library

The Lower Merion Library System is pleased to announce that it has received a $5,000 grant from Verizon’s ‘Check Into Literacy’ program to fund a literacy initiative at the Ardmore Free Library. The funding will be used to promote nutrition literacy as part of the Ardmore Free Library’s basic adult and early literacy programs. Read the complete story...

Township Celebrates New Library Processing Center

On Friday, April 18, the large group assembled at 104 Ardmore Avenue applauded the ribbon cutting for the new Library Processing Center. The Center, though not open to the public, provides a wealth of services behind the scenes to stock Lower Merion Library System (LMLS) shelves and store volumes that are important to the System, but not in regular demand by patrons. Wireless Internet Access Now Available at All Six Lower Merion System Libraries

The Lower Merion Library System (LMLS) is pleased to announce that all six libraries now offer free wireless access to the internet through the LMLS Wireless Stop and Go network. The network offers service to cardholders during each library’s hours of operation. Visitors with wireless devices who do not have LMLS library cards must be logged in by LMLS staff. Early Literacy Gets a Boost in Lower Merion

The Lower Merion Library System now offers an Early Literacy Station (ELS) in the Children’s Department at each of its six member libraries. The Early Literacy Station is a computer loaded with 34 different software programs to make learning fun. Each station is available for children ages 3 to 9, and the educational software promotes reading, science, art, and math skills. Read complete story...
