The Lower Merion Library System (LMLS) is pleased to announce that all six libraries now offer free wireless access to the internet through the LMLS Wireless Stop and Go network. The network offers service to cardholders during each library’s hours of operation. Visitors with wireless devices who do not have LMLS library cards must be logged in by LMLS staff.

Director of Libraries, Christine Steckel, called wireless access a “must for twenty-first century library users.” She also announced plans, in 2008, to offer wireless users the ability to print through the network. Ms. Steckel then cited support from federal and state grants to cover “approximately 50% of the project costs, over three years, to bring this service to Lower Merion library users.”

Call or visit any of the six Lower Merion Library System libraries for more details, or download a Wireless “Stop and Go” Tip Sheet (available at www.lmls.org) to learn more about how to access the network prior to your next visit.

The Wireless Stop and Go network is accessible from any wireless-enabled device using 802.11b, 802.11g, or 802.11n wireless cards.

LMLS partnered with Alternative Work Environments of Chester, PA in the design development of the wireless network.
