Updated 4/3/21 – Check-out an LMLS library hotspot with your library card at Ludington, Gladwyne, Bala Cynwyd or Ardmore libraries.  Connect up to 10 devices to the mobile Wi-Fi hotspot and stream music, movies or surf the web FOR FREE with unlimited data from within the cell coverage network (no roaming). Just sign the LMLS Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot Agreement (see below) and agree to the LMLS Internet Use Policy.

The devices are not holdable and can’t sent to another library for pickup. Please return the hotspot and complete contents of the case to the library that owns the hotspot.

 

 

 

 

 

Policy for Borrowing and Use Outside of the Library:

  1. Patrons must be 18 years of age or older and acknowledge this policy via their signature when checking out the device.
  2. Patrons must be in good standing with the library, and fines must be below $20.
  3. Mobile Wi-Fi hotspots must be checked out from and returned to the library from which it was checked out.
  4. Mobile Wi-Fi hotspots may be checked out for up to 3 weeks with no renewals. Only one hotspot at a time may be checked out to the same household. Because the hotspots are in such high demand, patrons may not checkout a hotspot the same day they return it. We ask you wait 24 hours to checkout a hotspot.
  5. Overdue hotspots will be deactivated. Patron’s account will be charged an overdue fine of $10/day with a maximum overdue fine of $60.
  6. The Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot can provide Wi‐Fi internet access for up to 10 devices within the cell network coverage area (no roaming).
  7. The library is not responsible for information accessed using this device or for personal information shared over the internet.

NOTE TO PARENTS/GUARDIANS: Internet content filtering IS provided through the hotspot. However, parents/guardians are still responsible for monitoring what their children access via the hotspot because no filter is 100% effective. Hotspot users must agree to the LMLS Internet Use Policy and are encouraged to follow safe internet practices. The following behaviors can result in the suspension of hotspot privileges and/or criminal prosecution:

  • Viewing, displaying, or disseminating materials that are judged in accordance with current legal definitions as being obscene.
  • Use of the internet in any way that violates federal, state, or municipal laws.

Fines and Liability:

  1. The overdue fine is $10/day with a maximum overdue fine of $60. Hotspot will not be checked in without the device and all the proper accessories: cord, power brick, case and paperwork instructions.
  2. The hotspot should be kept in a temperature-controlled environment; Please DO NOT leave it in your car.
  3. The patron is responsible for any fines or costs associated with loss or damage of the hotspot and/or peripherals.
  4. Each hotspot circulates in a case with a cable, power brick, instruction paperwork and barcode. The user is responsible for returning all of these items in good condition. If the hotspot, cord, or charger is returned damaged or not returned at all, the user will be responsible for the replacement cost. Fees and Costs: Overdue fee $10/day; Maximum overdue fee $60; Replace device $15; cord/power brick $15; Replace case $10; Reactivation fee $25
